At first young Maxwell is not fond that the car is also named Maxwell. After all, thats his name. Reluctantly, the two go for a ride in the car, stop at a park and show the car off to the kids there. At the end of the book, Maxwell counts his blessings; he got to play at the park, he made new friends, and, he gets to share his name with a really cool, old automobile! The back matter has a short history of the automobile.
