Who was she? A small and unimportant farm girl who never knew her parents? Who was she to be talking like this? Did she even fully understand it herself?
Yet she felt... a peace. And a hunger. She did not have all the answers. But she had a start. And she had a longing to remember this Maker for Who He is. To understand what would drive her parents to risk losing everything. Even to die. She had only scratched the surface.
She wanted... needed... hungered for the Truth her parents had known. The Truth she was only beginning to discover. The Truth that was already seeping into her very being. Truth that made her into so much more than just a farm girl. Truth that sought her out with a fierce passion. Truth she would uncover.

Hallie Jo finished writing The Promise: The Lover’s Heart at the age of sixteen. She is an avid reader and loves all genres from fantasy, to suspense, to poetry. Some of her favorite authors are Francine Rivers, Frank Peretti, and Ted Dekker. She is a passionate lover of Jesus, and has plans to serve on the mission field. Her writing is heavily influenced by this calling, and she prays that this book will be the first of many used to share the gospel. She is currently a homeschooled junior in high school and plans on attending Bible College. She has always been actively involved in her church and loves spending time with friends and family.
