Grace and Katie are twins who love to draw. Grace loves everything to be organised and neat, while Katie loves everything to be bright, bold and messy. When they want to draw a map of their home and street, the girls can’t agree on how it should be done so they each decide to create their own map. But that doesn’t work out quite as well as they’d planned. Perhaps working together might be more fun after all! An imaginative exploration of individuality, sisterhood, creativity and appreciating each other’s strengths.
Liz Anelli spent her early years drawing on the electrical circuit diagram papers that her dad brought home from work, copying her mother’s loopy handwriting and getting told off for daydreaming. Today she makes pictures using collage and printmaking as well as paint, pencils and her computer. Her picture books explore the world in vivid detail and she is very fond of designing complicated cityscape scenes as well as creating big illustrated maps of the places she loves best. Susan Whelan (now published as Susanne Merritt) is a writer, editor, mother of three and passionate advocate for children’s literacy. She’s also the Managing Editor of the highly respected children’s literature website Kids’ Book Review. She loves tea and chocolate, dislikes Brussels sprouts, and loves to read anywhere, anytime.
