Der Elefant Gamepil will in erster Linie Kinder ermuntern Englisch als Zweitsprache spielerisch zu erlernen und dabei einen leidenschaftlichen Zugang zur Sprache zu entwickeln. Gamepil learns English was written with the prime intention of encouraging children to learn English as a second language as well as to illustrate the importance of speaking a language from the heart as opposed to just knowing its rules. Through the daring and colourful character of Gamepil, the large dancing Elephant, children are inspired not to give into their concepts and their fears; and through his immigration process they learn not to give up and to persist when difficulties occur. The text in the book is written in both English and German, allowing parents and teachers to read it to children or support those who wish to read the English text with a mirroring text in German.
