Sir Chris Hoy (Author) Sir Chris Hoy MBE was born and raised in Edinburgh and in 2012 became Great Britain's most successful Olympic athlete to date, with six gold medals and one silver. Chris won his first Olympic gold medal in Athens in 2004 and went on to win three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. In 2012 at his home Olympic Games in London, Chris won his fifth and sixth gold medals- in the Keirin and Team Sprint. Chris was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2008 and awarded a Knighthood in 2009. She is the creator of young fiction series Horace & Harriet, and has illustrated dozens of other children's books, including the popular Flying Fergus series written by Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy and Joanna Nadin, Furry Friends by Holly Webb and Superheroes Don't Get Scared by Kate Thompson. Clare studied illustration at Falmouth University and has an MA in Children's Literature from Roehampton University. Clare lives in Devon with her husband and young sons, and regularly visits schools and appears at literary festivals.
