A great picture story book with an environmental message, developed in conversation with Greenpeace UK. When one little boy discovers a message from Father Christmas asking for help to save his home from the oil drillers, he hitches a lift from a kind old sailor and together with children from around the world, they set sail to confront the oil men. Elliot desperately wants to save the Arctic and stop Christmas being cancelled, but will the oil drillers back down and what is the old sailor’ s big surprise… ?

Catherine Barr worked at Greenpeace International for seven years as a wildlife and forestry campaigner and has a long-running interest in environmental issues. While working as an editor at the Natural History Museum, she researched and wrote two major summer exhibitions: Dinosaurs of the Gobi Desert and Myths and Monsters. Her previous books for Frances Lincoln Children's Books include The Story of Inventions, The Story of Life and The Story of Climate Change. She lives on a hill near Hay-on-Wye in Herefordshire with her partner and two daughters. FRANCESCA CHESSA graduated in Architecture but, after some years of working as an architect, realised she would rather paint animals and the things that surrounded her.
