Rolf Fehlbaum ist Chairman von Vitra. Nach einem Studium der Sozialwissenschaften gründete er mit zwei Partnern einen Verlag, produzierte Dokumentarfilme und war ab 1973 als Referent für Aus- und Fortbildung bei der Bayerischen Architektenkammer tätig. 1977 übernahm er die Führung von Vitra. Er leitete die Internationalisierung des Unternehmens ein, knüpfte Beziehung zu den führenden Designautoren, beauftragt einige der wichtigsten Architekten der Welt und gründete das Vitra Design Museum.
Maira Kalman, 1949 in Tel Aviv geboren und mit vier Jahren nach New York übersiedelt, ist eine der bekanntesten und besten Illustratorinnen Amerikas. Sie ist Autorin und Illustratorin zahlreicher Bücher für Kinder und Erwachsene.
