From D is for Dead Sea to S is for Souq, this is a celebration of Israel in all its diversity, from its rich heritage to modern-day life and families.
The new title in the acclaimed and longstanding Frances Lincoln World Alphabets series takes Israel as its subject. From Alahan--hello and welcome--to delicious Falafel; from Jerusalem, the holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims, to Water, most precious in a desert land...Written and photographed in Israel, this is the perfect introduction to a fascinating and diverse country.

Prodeepta Das was born in Cuttack, in eastern India. He is a freelance photographer and author whose pictures have been published in over 20 children's books. In 1991 Inside India, which he also wrote, won the Commonwealth Photographer's Award. Prodeepta's books for Frances Lincoln are P is for Pakistan, Prita Goes to India, K is for Korea, We are Britain!, Geeta's Day, I is for India, J is for Jamaica, Kamal Goes to Trinidad, P is for Poland, T is for Turkey, S is for South Africa, R is for Russia and B is for Bangladesh. GILI BAR-HILLEL is an editor, reviewer and translator. She worked as the editor of children's books for the Israeli publishing house Keter and has written for the major Israeli newspaper "Ha'aretz". The books she has translated into Hebrew include titles by Jacqueline Wilson, Dianne Wynne-Jones and Noel Streatfield and, most famously, J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Gili Bar-Hillel lives in Tel-Aviv with her family.
