Here we meet a young boy who discovers his late grandfather's notebook of Chinese farming customs. With the notebook the boy learns about traditional farming through weather conditions, solstices, and equinoxes and how they affect the things that grow. This book teaches him about how the seasons and time affect every living thing.
One day, by chance, a little boy found his grandfather's diary. In this diary his grandfather had written about how he farmed according to the 24 solar Terms of China which had been passed on for hundreds of years from ancient Chinese farmers. This discovery prompted the boy to remember the times he spent with his grandfather, and also to find out about stories of how the 24 solar terms were used in farming and their deep place in Chinese culture.
