The new Letterland Little Learners series has been specially devised to help parents introduce Letterland at the very earliest stage -- from birth to three years. These chunky, colourful board books progress from introducing the Letterland characters in First Alphabet, moving on to illustrating simple words in First Words, then featuring the Letterland characters in an alliterative activity in Words and Pictures and finally progressing to some simple illustrated rhymes in Alphabet Rhymes. First Words has pictures of everyday objects with their names written underneath. The vocabulary is kept simple with short and easy words. The book proceeds from a-z in alphabetical order and each page also features the Letterland capital and lower case pictograms in the corners.

Lyn Wendon is a reading specialist who devised Letterland as a remedy for reading failure. Working among children with learning difficulties, she found that they needed a style of teaching that not only explained letter behaviour, but also fired their imaginations. The result was Letterland!
