Johnny is four years old and he LOVES to dish out kisses.
Juanito loves to count, and what could be more fun than giving and counting kisses! Children's book author Lee Merrill Byrd was inspired to write Juanito Counts to Ten when she watched her four-year-old grandson Johnny. He was so happy and full of life that he was dishing out kisses to everybody. He kissed his mother, his father, Stray Gray the Cat, and, of course, his grandmother! He was so happy he even kissed his bossy big sister. Previously published in hardback as Lover Boy.
Lee Merrill Byrd's first children's book Treasure on Gold Street was about her granddaughter Hannah.

Lee Merrill Byrd loves what happens when her grandchildren wander through the neighborhood. Her first children's book Treasure on Gold Street followed her granddaughter Hannah. Now it's Little Johnny's turn. Algonquin published her first novel in Spring 2006. Francisco Delgado, the illustrator, grew up in Juarez, Chihuahua, but completed high school in El Paso. He received his MFA at Yale in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking in May 2002. Francisco is becoming known nationally for his political paintings that satirize U.S. icons blind to the meztizo and immigrant communities of Mexico. He lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
