The Virtual Advisor is an online program and resource booklet on how to get into graduate school in psychology. The process of applying to graduate school can be indimidating for students and it is often confusing to sort through the vast amounts of literature on the topic. The Virtual Advisor aims to deliver highly relevant information to students via the medium they are most accustomed to - the Internet. The program begins with an overview of graduate study in psychology and career choices. It then goes into some the specific differences between the two main areas of clinical and counseling psychology following some very specific advice on taking the GRE and what′s typically required, the importance of a personal statement, interviewing and recommendations. The printed booklet is intended to complement the online course, though it can be used independently. It will have section where the student can take notes on key points in each of the modules and can note areas which might require follow up.
