يكشف هذا الكتاب عن رحلة فريدة لعالم دمشقي في القرن الثامن عشر، قصد اسطنبول للشكوى ضد قاضٍ فاسد ومُنحاز، فحوّل رحلته إلى وثيقة نادرة في النقد الإداري والسياسي داخل الدولة العثمانية. هذا النص الذي يُنشر لأول مرة عن نسخة وحيدة تمثل مسودة المؤلف، يكشف عن التوترات السياسية والإدارية بين المركز والهامش، ويُبرز تفاعل العلماء العرب مع السلطة العثمانية، واستخدام الرحلة كأداة للاحتجاج الرمزي. يجمع النص بين أدب الرحلة والسيرة والنقد، إذ لا يقتصر على وصف الطريق ومحطاته، بل يقدم شهادة جريئة من رجل أديب وتاجر عربي عن العدل والفساد، ومنظوراً فريداً لمؤسسات الدولة، وعلى رأسها القضاء، ويقدّم شهادة حيّة وتجربة شخصية على ديناميات العدل والفساد في زمن قلَّت فيه الأصوات الفردية.




This book presents a unique 18th-century journey by a Damascene scholar who traveled to Istanbul to protest the misconduct of a corrupt judge. What began as a legal mission evolved into a rare document of political and administrative critique within the Ottoman Empire. Published here for the first time from the author's sole draft, the text reveals center-periphery tensions, the role of Arab scholars, and travel as a form of symbolic protest. Blending travel narrative, autobiography, and political insight, it offers a bold, personal reflection on justice, corruption, and the lived experience of state institutions from the margins.

المهدي الرواضيةأستاذ مشارك في التاريخ الإسلامي بالجامعة الأردنية. تركز بحوثه على دراسة المخطوطات، والجغرافيا التاريخية، وأدب الرحلات. له منشورات واسعة في هذه المجالات، ألّف أكثر من 51 كتابًا، وحرّر العديد من المخطوطات من أبرزها كتاب بغية الطلب في تاريخ حلب لابن العديم (21 مجلدًا، مؤسسة الفرقان، 6102)، وكتاب الفوائد السنية في الرحلة المدنية والرومية للنهروالي (دي غرويتر، 3202). كما أعدّ نحو 54 مقالًا مُحكّمًا. Almahdi Alrawadieh, Ph.D.University of Jordan, is Associate Professor of Islamic History there. His research focuses on manuscript studies, historical geography,and travel literature. He has published extensively, authoring over 15 books and editing numerous manuscripts in these fields. His major editorial projects include Bughyat al-Ṭalab by Ibn al-ʿAdīm (12 vols., Al-Furqan, 2016) and Al-Fawā'id al-Saniyyah by al-Nahrawālī (De Gruyter, 2023). He has also written over 45 peer-reviewed articles
