The yogic lore of Shiva's song,
Reveals the path both pure and strong;
Through breath and mind the seeker sees,
The Self that dwells in inner peace. [1]

The chakras bloom, the currents rise,
Sushumna glows with subtle ties;
Kundalini ascends with flame,
And yogis find the highest aim. [2]

Householders too may walk this way,
In daily life the truths obey;
With mantra's chant and practice deep,
They gain the fruits the sages keep. [3]

Thus, Samhita proclaims with grace,
The yogic path, the soul's true place;
By Shiva's word the bonds are torn,
And freedom shines as one reborn. [4]

Part 1

Advaita – Unity of Existence

One truth eternal, without start or end,

Through senses shines, on mind depend;

No other essence stands apart,

But knowledge glows in every heart. [1]

To loving souls I now impart,

The yoga lore, the guiding art;

The Lord of beings, vast and free,

Bestows release eternally. [2]

Forsake disputes of shallow kind,

For single-hearted, pure of mind;

To those of little worldly lore,

This path reveals the truth’s deep core. [3]

Some praise the truth, some penance pure,

Some cleansing rites that hearts secure;

Others extol forgiveness deep,

And equal ways the righteous keep. [4]

Some honor gifts to kin and sires,

Some ritual deeds that faith inspires;

Others uphold renunciation’s flame,

And call detachment the highest aim. [5]

Some wise extol the household way,

With fire rites performed each day;

Others declare the sacred fire,

The highest act of true desire. [6]

Some chant the mantras, some revere,

The pilgrim paths both far and near;

Thus many means the seekers say,

Can lead the soul to freedom’s way. [7]

Thus people lost in right and wrong,

Confused by endless worldly song;

But those released from sinful chain,

Find freedom’s path, pure and plain. [8]

Who clings to erring views of men,

Is bound to birth and death again;

By virtue lost, by sin oppressed,

He wanders on, without true rest. [9]

By sages wise, with vision clear,

Many truths proclaimed appear;

Eternal, vast, in every place,

They shine with universal grace. [10]

What is perceived, they say exists,

Beyond as well, the mind insists;

Thus heaven’s realms are held as true,

By minds convinced, with steadfast view. [11]

Some call it stream of knowledge vast,

Some void supreme that ever lasts;

Others declare two truths alone,

The primal nature and the soul. [12]

With minds diverse, in endless ways,

They ponder truth through varied gaze;

Each thinks according to his lore,

And speaks as heard from texts before. [13]

Some say no Lord, the world is bare,

While others claim His presence there;

With arguments both sharp and strong,

They strive to prove where they belong. [14]

These sages and their varied names,

Are told in texts with shifting claims;

Confusing minds with doctrines vast,

They bind the world in error’s grasp. [15]

Such quarrels none can truly state,

They wander lost in error’s fate;

All souls confused by endless strife,

Are cast away from freedom’s life. [16]

Surveying scriptures far and wide,

And pondering deep on every side;

One truth emerges, firm and sure,

The yoga lore is highest pure. [17]

When this is known, all else is known,

No need for toil in texts alone;

Why chase the words of other lore,

When yoga holds the final door. [18]

This yoga lore we guard with care,

To noble souls alone we share;

To faithful hearts, sincere and true,

Its secret shines in all they do. [19]

The Veda speaks of twofold way,

Of ritual acts and wisdom’s ray;

Both paths diverge, yet each is known,

As deeds and knowledge stand alone. [20]

Twofold the path of deeds is shown,

Prescribed by rule or by rule disowned;

Thus sacred texts the course divide,

And action’s forms are classified. [21]

Forbidden acts bring sin assured,

Prescribed by law bring virtue stored;

Thus deeds by rule or ban defined,

Shape fate of soul and humankind. [22]

Threefold the law is known to...
