This work explores the potential of creative storytelling as a tool for emotional support, identity-building, and narrative advocacy among neurodivergent adults, particularly those who are self-diagnosed or late-diagnosed. By combining an animated documentary with audio-visual elements and lived first-person experiences, the project gives voice to the subjective realities of neurodivergent individuals. Based on qualitative research, narrative therapy, and co-creation methodologies, the thesis bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and personal stories, offering a participatory and human-centered perspective. The book aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and foster a sense of belonging among neurodivergent audiences while highlighting the importance of inclusive and creative approaches to neurodiversity research.

Olia Kolesnyk is an Ukrainian multimedia artist and researcher based in Germany. She has a particular interest in researching creativity among adults with comorbid neurodevelopmental conditions. She completed her Master s degree at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, with the animated documentary "Hedgehog Windows" serving as the practical component of her research, which focused on the intersection of art and neurodiversity. Her thesis also explores the potential of audio-visual storytelling as a tool for emotional validation, experience processing, and identity-building for individuals with diverse minds.
