A man of prayer takes prayer serious. Prayer is a rod in his hand like the shepherd in the field. He holds prayer in esteem. Prayer is supreme in his hand. A man of prayer knows prayer is not an elective, it is a required course. It is a core curriculum.
Prayer becomes a habit of life in his curriculum. It becomes a habit of life, like eating and sleeping. He knows when one is called “Man of prayer”, it is not a tittle that comes with a bandage to flaunt, but a discreet lifestyle of continual prayer.
He is offensive in prayer. He takes the battle to the gate of the enemy. He is defensive when enemy attacks; and defends the situation more than expected. To a prayer warrior man, prayer is the first thing to come to mind.

He knows, prayer is not just a demonstration of discipline and determination but a desperate dependence on God. It is conversing with Christ, not just asking God for goodies and guarantees. A prayer warrior man knows what he needs and pursues it.
A prayer warrior man goes about in confidence. He is the head of the house. When sudden shock or problems arise, he solves it with confidence. He is hopeful. He believes and prays to God. He knows no problem, challenge or mountain is daring to God. The Lord is there for you; he is ready to destroy mountains and makes you pass through it unhurt. Mind you, God did not remove the Red Sea, he parted it. Sometimes God doesn’t remove your problems, he makes a way through them!
Build hope and praise God. The deepest level of worship is praising God through the pain; thinking God through the trials, trusting him when you are tempted to lose hope and loving him, even when he seems distant. You start to see yourself the way God sees you and that is when everything around you begins to change. Those moments when you just can’t put your prayer into words, God hears your heart.
While enemies are judging you, thinking they cornered you, God has plan for you. The journey may be difficult, but the destination will worth it. Allow God to guide your steps. What was meant to harm you, God already has a plan to turn it around for your good. The Lord will arise and protect you from what will steal, kill and destroy your destiny. Don’t lose hope. He does this because of three reasons. One, because of his contact with sinful humanity; two, because virtue had gone out of him; three, because of the danger and snare of popularity.
Every servant of God needs encouragement, but one of the devil’s greatest traps for preachers is that of flattery and carnal congratulation. Devil use it to rob the Lord of the glory which is due to his name.
Prayer warrior men spend time in prayer before making great decisions. Jesus gives us good example when he was to choose the twelve apostles. Before doing so he spent a whole night in prayer. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. Exodus 34:29. Prayer warrior lives and prays amongst people with a face that is not troubled but transfigured. Jesus prayed until he was transfigured; Peter, James and John witnessed it. Stephen’s face was transfigured when he was stoned. And all that sat in the council, looking steadfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. Acts 6:15
