Authors discussed include Edward Upward, Graham Greene, Rex Warner, Henry Green, William Sansom, Anna Kavan, Samuel Beckett, Flann O'Brien, John Banville, Alasdair Gray, Iain Banks, James Kelman, Kazuo Ishiguro, W. G. Sebald, J. G. Ballard, China Miéville, Iris Murdoch, John Fowles, David Wheldon, William Golding, Ian McEwan and Ali Smith.

David Lockwood is a British philosopher and cultural historian with a background in publishing and university teaching.
