Farangis Nurulla-Khoja, a Tajik-Canadian composer, holds a Doctorate in Composition from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has studied at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris, France and the University of California, San Diego, USA.Farangis' diverse compositions include symphonic, chamber, vocal, and electro-acoustic works, with over 40 pieces performed across 21 countries. She views music as a journey into the unknown, exploring unheard sounds and unseen forms, and has received prestigious awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Canada Arts Council's Joseph S. Stauffer Prize.Dr Nargis T. Nurulla-Khojaeva is a prominent scholar in cultural heritage, philosophy, and Oriental studies. Fluent in Tajik, Russian, Persian, and English, her academic trajectory has included significant work in both the UK and Russia. Nargis earned her doctorate in Moscow and now teaches at the International Silk Road University in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Her research focuses on Central Asian communities, cultural resilience, gender studies, and decolonization through Sufism.
