Donnchadh Ó Corráin (1942-2017) was an Irish historian and Professor Emeritus of Medieval History at University College Cork. In 1982, he founded the Medieval Academy of Ireland and established its journal, Peritia, which he edited from its first edition until the year before his death. He published extensively on Irish history throughout his career. Fidelma Maguire is Ó Corráin’s wife and before her retirement was a teacher of history.
