Mustafa Banister, Ph.D. (2015), University of Toronto, is Assistant Professor of Middle East history at Utah State University. From 2018 to 2021, he was a postdoctoral researcher on the “The Mamlukisation of the Mamluk Sultanate II” project at Ghent University. He has published a monograph entitled The Abbasid Caliphate of Cairo, 1261-1517: Out of the Shadows (Edinburgh, 2021). His current research focuses on Muslim kingship in the historical writings of Ibn ʿArabshāh (d. 1450). Fadi Ragheb served as Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, at the University of Toronto, where he taught courses in Arabic and Islamic history. He has published studies on Islamic Jerusalem, Saladin, and the Crusades. His current research focuses on the Faḍāʾil al-Quds, Islamic pilgrimage to Mamlūk Jerusalem, and Muslim-Crusader relations. He completed a B.A. at McGill University, and completed his M.A. and Ph.D. at the Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations Department, University of Toronto.
