This poster serves as a quick reference and study guide for the classroom or for anyone with an interest in Confederate history. In addition to its map of the Confederate states, it includes photos of all eight Confederate full generals, all 17 lieutenant generals, 18 major and brigadier generals, eight members of the presidential cabinet, and 25 Confederate sites that can be visited today. Information includes a month-by-month timeline of the War Between the States, a listing of the 10 most important battles with casualties and commanding generals, artwork and history of the Confederate national flag, flags of the major armies and of the 13 Confederate states with dates of secession, artwork and photos of the major Confederate cruisers and ironclads, and important dates such as Confederate Memorial Day and Lees and Jacksons birthdays.
Daryl Hutchinson received a Technical Illustration Award from Macworld magazine and has worked as a senior designer for Ford Motor Company, a creative director for the Tampa (FL) Tribune, and an illustrator and designer at Super Duper Publications, a publisher of children's educational products. His artistic endeavors range from creating interactive CDs to traditional pen and ink illustrations. A member of his local Sons of Confederate Veterans camp, he explains that his goal as an author is "to create a wider understanding of the South and to perpetuate the memory of our Confederate ancestors" through his artwork. Hutchinson lives in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
