What were the religious views of the major Jewish historian of antiquity, Flavius Josephus, in the context of ancient Jewish Diaspora literature? On the basis of the analysis of two major compositions of Josephus, Judean War and Jewish Antiquities, Michael Tuval claims that in the course of time, Josephus underwent a religious transformation, and he suggests a new way of interpreting Josephus' narratives.
