What if our entire understanding of reality is shaped by what we suppose rather than what we know? This book introduces a groundbreaking philosophical framework that explores the central role of supposition in human cognition, culture, politics and society.Moving beyond traditional notions of belief and imagination, the author presents supposition as a fundamental cognitive act—one that bridges uncertainty and meaning, perception and reality. Drawing on philosophy, neuroscience, political theory, and literature, this book redefines the human experience through the lens of Homo Putans, the "supposing human."For philosophers, cognitive scientists, and curious thinkers, this book offers a deep yet accessible exploration of how supposition shapes our decisions, identities, and collective realities. From Plato's doxa to modern political discourse, the author weaves together diverse disciplines to reveal how the act of supposing is at the heart of knowledge, creativity, and existence itself.Enter the world of Homo Putans—where every thought is an invitation to question, explore, and suppose.
