The Spanish Economy in the 20th Century (1985) looks at the trials and tribulations of Spain. Monarchy, dictatorships, civil war, parliamentary republic – Spain experienced them all and it was not until the much-vaunted ‘Spanish miracle’ of 1961–73 that the country’s economic fortunes began to turn around.
