Paul Prescod is a labor organizer, educator, and writer based in Philadelphia. He began his political work as a student at Temple University, supporting local labor struggles. As a public school teacher and member of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, he organized around school conditions, class sizes, and fair contracts. In 2022, he ran for Pennsylvania State Senate on a platform centered on public education, labor rights, and progressive taxation, earning 40 percent of the vote. He is a contributing editor at Jacobin magazine, where he has published over seventy articles, and was previously co-host of The Jacobin Show.
