Rig Veda Mandal 1 in English rhyme with 191 Mandals

Sukta 1

To sacred fire we sing this praise,

The priest who lights our holy days,

He brings the gems of truth untold,

Ignites our hearts with flames of gold. [1]

Praised by sages, old and new,

Agni leads the Gods in view,

Carrying wisdom bright and grand,

Like light that spreads across the land. [2]

Through Agni flows wealth divine,

Giving strength where virtues shine,

Day by day his gifts unfold,

Like fire forging hearts of gold. [3]

Agni guards each sacred rite,

Guides it safe through day and night,

The offering carried high above,

Embraced by Gods in boundless love. [4]

Fire is priest and seer wise,

Truth and splendor in his guise,

Glowing bright with starry flame,

He calls the Gods who know his name. [5]

Agni, bless the one who gives,

For in his gift, true virtue lives,

The law of truth shall guard his way,

Like fire that guides both night and day. [6]

Each dawn and dusk we call thy name,

Bring honor, Agni, light and flame,

Our voices rise, our hearts incline,

To thee, who makes the world divine. [7]

Agni shines in sacred space,

Guardian of the rite's embrace,

In his home the flames grow bright,

Spreading warmth and guiding light. [8]

Be to us like father true,

Agni, lead us, strong and new,

Guide our paths in peace and grace,

Bless us with thy warm embrace. [9]

Sukta 3

Swift Ashvins, bearers of light,

Graceful hands, curing our plight,

Like wisdom rushing in divine embrace,

They bless the seeker with endless grace. [1]

Ashvins, mighty, fierce and wise,

Accept the hymns where praises rise,

In every heart where faith is pure,

Their healing touch makes souls endure. [2]

Dasras, youthful, poets bright,

Come with Rudra’s guiding light,

Where truth prevails, your blessings flow,

A path of wisdom you bestow. [3]

Come, O Indra, radiant lord,

Drink the Soma, wield your sword,

May wisdom rise and never tire. [7]

All Gods, come swift with speed untold,

Like dawn’s bright rays in hues of gold,
