This study on Mesoamerican religion and iconography is illustrated with colourful attractive images that will help the reader to envision the impressive Aztec religious celebrations: deities, costumes, implements and all the paraphernalia used in the monthly Aztec festivals.
This book provides the reader with an historical and visual information of the monthly Aztec feasts that will help him to envision these impressive religious celebrations. For the first time, a Mexican artist illustrates the veintenas like a tlacuiloque (native painter) in pre-Conquest times.
The novelty of this book format (which includes an academic study of the veintenas festivals and twenty-six colourful illustrations of these festivals) makes it appealing to anthropologists, art historians, ethnologists, scholars of religious studies, and the general public.
