In this book, the author discusses five pioneering Saudi novels through presentation and analysis. He asserts, "e;I did not impose a preconceived notion on any novel I discussed, but rather made sure to approach each novel by reading it with the reader, relying on presentation and analysis. My selection of these novels stemmed from my desire to explore the beginnings of the novel in Saudi Arabia and to examine them, to gain insight into how they were treated, and to examine their themes, to explore the features of beginnings, with their pioneering and spontaneity, their mistakes, and their merits. I also do not believe that these novels are easily available to the average reader, given the long period that has passed since their publication and the difficulty of obtaining a copy. My opinions are not like a lock on others, or even a lock on the Andalusian muwashshah, which hangs at the end in bold letters, as if it were a large lost key to the world of the novel, or a lonely beacon for those searching for beacons.
