The stories behind the other Tudor women – the sisters and nieces of Henry VII and their influence on the infamous monarch.
Henry VIII is well-known for his six wives, and the stories of his daughters, queens in their own right, have been told. But what about the ‘other’ Tudors? Henry had two sisters who became the Queens of Scotland and France. What are their stories? What led Margaret Tudor to escape from Scotland? Why did Mary Tudor marry Charles Brandon? This book explores the history behind the women who also supported Henry VIII – his sisters and his nieces. Passionate women who led extraordinary lives for their times, the book explores the lives of Margaret Tudor, Mary Tudor, Frances Brandon, Eleanor Brandon, and Margaret Douglas and examines the impact their lives had on the Tudor monarch.
