What began in the original garden was a beautiful vision of teamwork. Adam received God's word for both he and his future bride, Eve. When God blessed and commissioned "e;Man,"e; Eve was a rib. She did not hear what God said to Adam. Did Adam fail to release God's Word to her? Jesus, the Last Adam, has not and will not fail in releasing God's Word to His bride, His Church, His body. "e;The Corporate Man"e; is the new, mature, and complete Man who is revealed in Scripture as being born of the Spirit. This Corporate Man is not limited by gender, ethnicity, or socio-economic barriers. For in Christ, none of those things exist or matter.
1 Females And The Heart Of The Father
In the very beginning, God made married couples
co-equal governors in the Garden and beyond!
Scripture tells us it is not good for man to be alone. It also tells us finding a wife is a good thing, and in finding a wife God’s favor is found.
Scripture does not tell us to find a female who wants to
become our wife.
Finding a wife requires faith to wait for God to bring her to the man who is looking for his wife. God brought Eve to Adam. You may say, “Duh! There was no one else to bring her to.” That is true! But God did not have to bring her to him, did He? He could have made another man so that Eve would have had her “good thing” if Adam had somehow failed God’s test of being a suitable mate for her.
No marriage is better than a bad one, and no spouse is better than the wrong one. Because God said it is not good for man to be alone that puts Him on the spot for bringing the right man and the right woman together.
Keep in mind, when God made “man,” He made them male and female. Inside of Adam was Eve. In the beginning the Corporate Man was a unified male and female. When the Bible says it is not good for man to be alone it refers to mankind, not just the male population. So, we could say, “It is not good for any male or female to spend their life alone, and lonely.”
What do we do with the verse in Proverbs that says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord?”1 In the Hebrew the verse begins with the word “finds,” not “He.”2 In the Hebrew it reads, “Finds wife finds good obtains favor Lord.”3 The Hebrew word for wife does mean a female, which is why the translators translated it is “good for a man to find a wife.”
Verse 1 of Proverbs 18 says, “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire. He rages against all wise judgment.” In the Hebrew there are no words that communicate a male subject is being referred to in the verse. It says, “Desire seeks separates all sound wisdom quarrels.”4 With the starting verse not designating a male subject it is not beyond reason to conclude that verse 18 has been written from a male bias.
When we peer into the New Testament, we see that in Christ there is neither male nor female.1 What are we to deduce from that? I have concluded it reveals that the gender barriers society has constructed are torn down in the kingdom of King Jesus.
So, “She who finds a husband finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord” is Biblically accurate. When we read in the Genesis account of the first marriage, we find some interesting truths.
Genesis 2
“18 And the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.23 And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
When we peer past all the patriarchal aspects of the way we were raised we see that it was not good for ‘man’ to be alone. It does not say it was good for the male to be alone. This is important because God was revealing His value for both the man and the woman who would be taken out of ‘man’ and then brought back to 'man.’
God knew man needed help, so He provided a helper to be a benefit in the relationship. It is interesting because it seems to me that Adam was having a hard time finding the right helper among the animal kingdoms. “But for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.” Was God the one looking for a helper for Adam? Surely not! Surely God knew before He made the animals or Adam that man and animals were not suitable for each other sexually. We know that animals help humans in a variety of ways so what way was the animal kingdom suitable? They are not suitable in a sexual way! They are of no help in the procreation aspect of the sexual experience.
So, Adam could not find a helper suitable for him among the animal kingdom, and God already had His solution. I find it interesting that God did not provide Adam his helper until he exhausted every effort to locate one among the animals. That gives “Looking for love in all the wrong places” a whole new meaning.
God’s remedy for this situation was He caused a deep sleep to come on the man.
[Joking] We men can blame God that we sleep so deep we have no idea what is happening when we sleep.
This was the very first time in human history someone was anesthetized. God put man in a trance-like state to perform the surgery necessary to remove the woman from his side.
Why did God take a rib to fashion the man’s helper into a female?
Ribs are support structures that also protect the vital organs. Women are vital supporters of all that is vital to sustaining the life God has for mankind. They have never been devalued in God’s eyes, mind or heart.
Why didn’t God take a bone from the top of the man’s head, or from the bottom of his foot?
Because God never intended for females to rule over men, nor did He ever intend for them to be ruled over by males.
Who then did God intend for the Corporate Man to rule over?
Let’s look at God’s original design for this Corporate Man.
Genesis 1:26-28
“26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
In Genesis 1, God declared His intentions to make man and then described His intentions for man. And then God made man! This is a big deal. In fact, it is a huge deal.
This is revealing to us that God knew, and still knows way in advance, what it is going to take to make you be able to fulfill His purpose for your life. Bill Johnson says, “God gives us promises because He has been to our future and has seen what we need, and He comes back to where we are to give us the word to help us get to where He is taking us.”
I must confess that I have gotten to the point at times in my walk with Jesus where I did not want more promises until some of the older ones had come to pass. That is one frustrating aspect of a prophetic culture. You get so many downloads directly from the Lord or others pick up in the Spirit what He is saying for you and give them to you, that it can be challenging to keep up with them all. Recording what you can and transcribing them helps tremendously.
These downloads are points of references that help keep us going toward the goal which is the high call of God in Christ Jesus. It is ludicrous to believe God does not have high calls for females that are more than keeping house. Keeping house and raising a family are tremendous calls, but for some there is much more that God calls them into. To dissuade them or to deny them the opportunity to reach God’s plan for them is outrageously arrogant, and destructive to the purposes of God in the earth. And it must stop!
It is true that God finishes things long before He starts those things. Isaiah saw this and spoke it eight centuries before Jesus came to earth [46:10] - “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’”
Paul wrote this in 2 Corinthians 4: “13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.” Paul uses a quote from Psalms 116:10. The Psalmist went on to say, “I am greatly afflicted.”
