A. Jahitha Begum serves as Senior Professor and Chair of the Education Department in Gandhigram Rural University, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, India. She has 10 years' teaching experience in Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central Government) schools and 21 years' experience as Teacher Educator in the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and in State and Central Government Universities. Jahitha's research areas of interest include cognitive science and communicative competence, and she has completed funded projects from various funding agencies of India. She is active in national and international seminars and conferences and has received awards for teaching as well as research, by the National Council for Educational Research, New Delhi, the Air India BOLT Award etc.. As an active writer, presenter, and reviewer of educational journals including Elsevier journals. Jahitha has published good number of articles in Scopus indexed journals, written several books and book chapters, and delivered more than 70 invited lectures in various colleges and universities throughout the country.
