Concern for honor is a social phenomenon present in various historical moments and cultural contexts. While honor is a collectivist attribute, since it depends on society's judgment, it is also personal and depends on the individual notion of self that people have of themselves. The book aims to propose an explanatory model in which personality traits and human values explain the concern for honor. More specifically, to find out the personality and value profile of men and women from the capital and the interior of Roraima, to compare concern for honor according to gender and the context of the capital and interior cities, and to find out the correlates and predictors of concern for honor.
During my studies in Psychology at the Federal University of Roraima, I was instigated by society's repression of sexuality. I did my postgraduate studies in Psychology and Sexuality at the University of Araraquara-SP, and since then I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist treating adolescents, adults and couples.
