Alan Leftridge, the executive editor of The Interpreter magazine, will sharpen your skills for connecting with your audiences. The book introduces you to the strategies promoted by the National Association for Interpretation and the National Park Service for written interpretation, with a focus on developing tangibles, intangibles, universals, and interpretive themes in your writing, while avoiding trite expressions. These strategies and skills apply to your brochures, web sites, exhibits, public service announcements, books, magazine articles and other interpretive projects.

Alan Leftridge is the editor of the National Association for Interpretation's The Interpreter magazine. Since 2002, he has conducted more than 85 interpretive writing workshops and Certified Interpretive Guide training workshops around the United States. His writing credits include more than 100 articles and editorials in interpretive magazines, as well as numerous texts for interpretive panels and brochures. He authored Going to Glacier (2006), Seeley-Swan Day Hikes (2005), and Glacier Day Hikes (2003). Alan lives south of Glacier National Park in the Swan Valley, Montana. Before moving to Montana, he spent 25 years teaching interpretation and environmental studies courses at Miami University, Ohio, and Humboldt State University in California. His introduction to interpretation was as a seasonal interpreter in Yellowstone National Park.
