Every day, the lives of the Sons of Third Culture - FTC are characterized by the experience of having lived outside their homeland. As they become adults and sometimes return home or live somewhere other than where they were born or grew up, they try to find a sense of identity and belonging. Our aim is to analyze the experience of growing up between cultures and its effect on identity, sense of belonging, as well as the ability to see oneself and resilience in the face of the challenges of such an experience. Based on theoretical assumptions, and with the aim of maintaining the perspective of the Person-Centered Approach, the aim of this study was to identify differences in self-esteem, resilience, sense of identity and belonging between Portuguese-speaking adult TCFs, American adult TCFs and a control group made up of monocultural adults.

Degree in Pedagogy with a specialization in Educational Guidance. Master's Degree in Helping Relationships and Therapeutic Intervention from the Autonomous University of Lisbon. Writer. Author of Livro de Salema (2004), Mundo Cristão A História de Sofia (2007), Descoberta. Simplesmente Sofia (2015) by Chiado Editora and Mulheres com História (2017) by CLC Portugal.
