Josh Phillips grew up in a Christian home as the youngest of seven, with dreams of following in his dad’s footsteps, playing professional football. His competitive drive and work ethic paved the way for some championship moments; however, each step toward his goal of professional football brought additional obstacles. Josh wrestled with God’s plans for his life and questioned his purpose amidst each trial. But through it all, God was faithful—and continues to be in every moment.
It’s My Time is designed for readers to journey into spiritual transformation. Josh Phillips encourages believers to delve into applicable scripture and ponder how God’s hand is at work in their own lives. A unique feature at the end of each chapter, the Red Zone Check, encourages personal reflection on God’s role as author of each person’s story.
Driven to inspire others to find their identities in Christ and put their complete trust in Him, Josh Phillips is a Christ-following, fiercely competitive coach and pastor. Josh is a former NFL football player, multiple-time Crossfit Regional competitor, drafted Grid League Athlete, and USA Weightlifting competitor. He graduated from Yale, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Religious Philosophy, as well as ran track and played football. He also holds two masters’ degrees—a Master’s in Business Administration from Wagner College and a Master’s in Kinesiology Biomechanics from Cal State, Northridge—and has coached at the University of California Berkeley, University of California Santa Barbara, Wagner College, Los Angeles Pierce College, the Peak Performance Project (P3), and multiple high schools. Today, Josh Phillips is the Head Football Coach at Sarasota High School, where he also assistant coaches weightlifting while teaching in the Physical Education Department. He is also the founder of Faith Forge a ministry dedicated to leading others to forge inner strength and courageous character through the refining fire of the Holy Spirit, while equipping through Jesus Christ for spiritual battle. Josh is a speaker and relishes the opportunity to share the testimony of what God has done in his life. He calls sunny Sarasota, Florida, home, where he enjoys working out, bowling, beach escapes, and golden lattes with his beautiful, godly wife, Traci, and their cats.
