Starting from the topic of the family affectation that produces the stressor of the presence of cancer in a member of the family, this research of qualitative-descriptive type has been designed in order to make a description from the systemic approach, based on the general theory of the systems with authors like Carlos Sluzki, Salvador Minuchin and Monica Chadi. In the same way these authors establish the importance of social networks in the accompaniment and emotional support in the presence of a crisis or affectation. To carry out this research proposal, 3 families were chosen from the municipality of Granada - Meta, who presented family crises produced by this non-normative stressor such as cancer. Having as preconcept that cancer is a disease that produces great impact in the psychological and social life of the person and its family system, due to the changes that are presented from the moment of the diagnosis and subsist generating new tasks, new roles and new styles in the communication; product of the process of treatment and the demands of attention that the person who suffers it requires.
