Der Band 2 der zweisprachigen Ausgabe der »Loci praecipui theologici« von 1559 bringt nun auf 518 Seiten die zweite Hälfte von Melanchthons Hauptwerk. Ediert werden so wichtige Lehrstücke wie die Lehre von der Kirche, von den Sakramenten und von der Prädestination, mit denen der späte Melanchthon Position innerhalb der reformatorischen Debatten bezieht. Wichtig ist zudem auch seine Trostlehre »De calamitatibus et de cruce et de veris consolationibus«, welche die Frömmigkeit des Luthertums nachhaltig prägen sollte. Der Band wird abgeschlossen mit Registern für Bibelstellen, Begriffe, Nichtbiblische Namen, sowie Orts-, Völker- und Gruppennamen, welche sowohl die Einträge für Bd.1 als auch für Bd.2 enthalten.
Volume 2 of the bilingual edition of the "Loci praecipui theologici" of 1559 now contains on 518 pages the second half of Melanchthon's major work. It includes such important doctrinal pieces as the Doctrine of the Church, of the Sacraments and of Predestination, with which the late Melanchthon took a position within the Reformation debates. Also important is his teaching on consolation, "De calamitatibus et de cruce et de veris consolationibus", which was to have a lasting influence on the piety of Lutheranism. The volume is concluded with indexes for biblical passages, terminology, non-biblical names, as well as place, people and group names, which contain the entries for both Volume 1 and Volume 2.
