Mirela Ivanova is a Junior Research Fellow at University College, Oxford. Her research focuses on the intellectual and cultural history of Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on ideas about writing and literacy. Hugh Jeffery is a Career Development Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He is an archaeologist focusing on material culture in Western Asia Minor from the sixth through to the twelfth century.
