Die Studie untersucht die Bedeutung kollegialer Gruppen für den Pfarrberuf. Dabei wird erstmals die in der pastoraltheologischen Forschung vorherrschende Fokussierung auf einzelne Pfarrer und ihre individuelle Praxis überwunden. Vor dem Hintergrund professionstheoretischer Ansätze untersucht die Autorin die gemeinsame Praxis von Pfarrerinnen und Pfarrern in Pfarrkonferenzen und selbstorganisierten Treffen mithilfe einer empirisch-qualitativen Erhebung. Kollegiale Gruppen dienen der gegenseitigen Vergewisserung, der Sicherung professionellen Handelns und der Wahrung der Autonomie einzelner Pfarrer sowie der gesamten Berufsgruppe.
Die Arbeit in diesen Gruppen wird erstmalig als ein eigenständiger Tätigkeitsbereich pastoralen Handelns beschrieben und gewürdigt. Davon ausgehend entwickelt die Autorin die pastoraltheologische These, dass dem Pfarrberuf eine kollektive Dimension innewohnt, und eröffnet eine neue Perspektive für die Reflexion der gemeinsamen Arbeit innerhalb der Berufsgruppe.

Being Autonomous Together. A Study on Collegial Groups in the Parish Ministry
This study examines the importance of collegial groups for the parish ministry. For the first time, the prevailing focus in pastoral theological research on individual pastors and their individual practice is overcome. Against the background of professional theoretical approaches, the author examines the common practice of pastors in parish conferences and self-organized meetings with the help of an empirical-qualitative survey. Collegial groups provide mutual assurance, ensure professional action and preserve the autonomy of individual pastors and the entire professional group. The work in these groups is for the first time described and appreciated as an independent field of pastoral activity. On this basis, the author develops the pastoral theological thesis that the parish profession has a collective dimension and opens a new perspective for the reflection of common work within the professional group. The author received her doctorate in 2018 with this thesis.

Autor

Ricarda Schnelle, Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1985, studierte in Erlangen und Münster Evangelische Theologie und arbeitete nach dem Vikariat als Pfarrerin im Braunschweiger Umland. Von 2014 bis 2018 war sie Wissenschaftliche Assistentin am Lehrstuhl für Praktische Theologie und Pastoraltheologie an der Theologischen Fakultät in Göttingen, wo sie mit der vorliegenden Arbeit promoviert wurde. Seit Mai 2018 arbeitet sie als Pastorin in den Kirchengemeinden Haimar, Rethmar und Sehnde (Ev.-luth. Landeskirche Hannovers).
