Written by: Printha Ellis taught English as a foreign language on four continents, including extended periods in southern Asia and northern Africa. Following an honours degree in English, she was granted a Master’s degrees in English Literature from Leeds and, more recently, Applied Linguistics from Birmingham. She also worked as a writer-in-residence at two British Council summer schools held at Durham University, based on the themes of authenticity and innovations in ELT. Printha worked on more than ten coursebook series aimed at levels from kindergarten to adult. James Taylor, who has written several best-selling secondary ELT courses, including Reflections, (the Macmillan ELT American English course for young adults) is the Prospects language consultant and author. James also co-wrote Move Ahead, a British English course for teenagers. Ken Wilson is a teacher trainer and a prolific author of ELT materials, with about 25 titles to his name, including ten series of coursebooks. His Macmillan titles include Prospects, Move Ahead and the New Standard English course for Chinese secondary schools, a co-production with Beijing publisher FLTRP. He studied English at Reading University, where he attended classes in Linguistics with David Crystal. He taught English at the British Institute, Seville, Spain and then moved to International House, London, where he also became a teacher trainer.
