Continuing from the local wills already published by the Society (in Vols.37 and 45 - both now out of print), this volume makes a further 298 wills accessible to the local historian. The PCC wills to 1548 have also been published in Vol.58 (still available).

Patricia Bell was Bedfordshire County Archivist 1968-1986 and also General Editor for BHRS. She both edited and contributed to many BHRS volumes. Edwin Welch (1927-1998) was an archivist and worked in various parts of England from 1951 to 1971 and subsequently in Canada. He was an expert and writer on Dissenting history.
