In 2000 peat-cutters at work discovered remains of a human corpse in a bog at Uchte in Lower Saxony, which was subjected to investigatory work as a potential criminal case, before it was recognized in 2005 to represent a young female bog body of the pre-Roman Iron Age around 650 B.C. and thus the first bog body from Lower Saxony in the past 50 years. Ten years after the initial publication [MAN 37], this is the second volume with the natural scientific results on the deceased. Its 15 papers deal with the archaeology and palaeobotany of the Bronze Age bog track Su 3, the physical anthropology and palaeopathology of skull and body, research by CT scan, microscopy, and fluorescence microscopy, histological analyses of the skin, Moora’s “biography”, a computer-based skull reconstruction and facial reconstructions, the persistence of analysable DNA from bones, the results of x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, trace elements in Moora’s hair and peat from the find spot, the girl’s environment from a palaeo-ecological point of view, as well as a 3-D reconstruction of the Iron Age bog landscape near Uchte. Im Jahr 2000 entdeckten Arbeiter beim Torfabbau im Uchter Moor in Niedersachsen Leichenreste, die erst 2005 nach Abschluß behördlicher Kriminalermittlungen als junge weibliche Moorleiche der vorrömischen Eisenzeit um 650 v.Chr. und damit als erster Moorleichenfund in Niedersachsen seit 50 Jahren erkannt wurden. Zehn Jahre nach der ersten Publikation [MAN 37] folgen nun die naturwissenschaftlichen Untersuchungsergebnisse zu der Toten. Die 15 Aufsätze befassen sich mit Archäologie und Paläobotanik des bronzezeitlichen Moorweges Su 3, der physischen Anthropologie und Paläopathologie von Schädel und Körper, computertomographischen, mikroskopischen und fluoreszenzmikroskopischen Untersuchungen, histologischen Analysen der Haut, Mooras “Biographie”, der computergestützten Schädelrekonstruktion, Gesichtsrekonstruktionen, der Überdauerung analysefähiger DNA in Knochen, den Ergebnissen einer Röntgenfluoreszenzanalyse, Spurenelementen in Mooras Haar und Torfen der Fundstelle, dem paläoökologisch betrachteten Lebensumfeld des Mädchens sowie einer 3D-Rekonstruktion der eisenzeitlichen Moorlandschaft bei Uchte.
