General of the Army Douglas Arthur MacArthur went on to become the Supreme Allied Commander in the Pacific, especially the FarEast, after Japan surrendered. He fumbled badly during the Korean War and was fired for cause by President Truman. Now the rest of this is fiction. He was relieved on December 18th, 1942, along with Admiral Kimmel, CINCPAC and US Army Hawaii, Major General Short. However, because MacArthur had so many friends in Congress, and around the United States, President Truman decided to keep MacArthur's firing quiet and bring him back to the States for an Army Article 70 Hearing and possible General Court-martial. Continuing the fiction, this is the Article 70 hearing involving the Judge Advocate General Staff to determine whether Colonel Douglas Arthur MacArthur should be tried by court-martial.
