Bringing together relational, systemic and ecological approaches, this textbook for psychotherapy and counselling practitioners and trainees provides a comprehensive overview to integrative theory and practice. Illuminating case studies offer a clear view of what it means to work relationally and translate the approach into everyday contexts.
Bringing together relational, systemic and ecological approaches, this pioneering book outlines a valuable integrative psychotherapeutic method and presents the core steps for implementing it into practice.

The book provides a robust examination of the historical roots and theoretical underpinnings of the approach, alongside insights from contemporary neuroscience. The authors also offer a clear framework for carrying out integrative work, weaving together relational, systemic and ecological threads. Case studies highlight the practical applications of the method, and chapters on practice, ethics, supervision, and training provide a springboard for psychotherapy and counselling professionals and students to take forward the lessons offered and implement them in practice.

Peter Hawkins is Professor of Leadership at Henley Business School and teaches and consults in over 50 countries. Judy Ryde is a freelance psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with the Centre for Supervision, Training and Development Bath. They are both founders and core teachers at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling and were founder members of the UK council for Psychotherapy, and over the last 35 years have pioneered an integrative approach to psychotherapy.
