This volume offers the editio princeps of a 10th-century anonymous chronicle which covers the period from Adam up to 976. It draws mainly from the interpolated chronicle of George the Monk, which belongs to the circle of the Logothetes‘ chronicle. As most Byzantine short chronicles are still unpublished, this edition also lays the groundwork for assessing the literary value of this subgenre and determining its ideological and didactic function. Der vorliegende Band bietet die editio princeps einer anonymen Kurzchronik des 10. Jh., die von Adam bis in das Jahr 976 reicht und vor allem auf Georgius Monachus interpolatus aus dem Kreis der Logothetenchronik beruht. Diese soll zugleich als Grundlage für die Annäherung an die literaturhistorische Bedeutung sowie die ideologische und didaktische Funktion dieses Subgenres dienen, deren Vertreter bisher kaum editorisch erschlossen sind.
