Lustrum Band 57 besteht aus Berichten über den römischen Lyriker Catull und den römischen Fabeldichter Phaedrus. Ihre Verfasserinnen, Marilyn B. Skinner und Ursula Gärtner sind international ausgewiesene Expertinnen, die die Forschungsdiskussion zu den beiden Dichtern in den letzten Jahrzehnten maßgeblich mitbestimmt haben. Marilyn B. Skinner bespricht umfassend und kritisch die Forschungsliteratur über Catull der Jahre 1985-2015, Ursula Gärtner die über Phaedrus der Jahre 1975-2014. Die kritische Diskussion übergeordneter Fragestellungen (z. B. des Problems des Autobiographischen) kommt bei beiden Berichten ebenso zur Geltung wie die Diskussion einzelner Gedichte.

Dr. Marcus Deufert ist Professor für Klassische Philologie (Schwerpunkt Latinistik) an der Universität Leipzig.
