How could past and present religious narratives accompany and promote constructevely a pluralistic European Project? How has the European spiritual heritage to be assumed and traslated, in order to contribute to the development of the present (post)secular Europe and its identities? How does the phenomenon of exil and of migration influence and transform the present religious landscape and strengthen the question of the rights of religious minorities? Which institutional challanges do religions and their pluralisation pose to a post-secular Europe? Contributions from different scientific approaches - from Religious and Political Sciences, Philosophy and Law, to Theology, Islamic and Jewish Studies - aim to deal with these questions, investigating the mutual influences between religious symbolic systems and political transformation processes in the present Europe.
Prof. Dr. Christian Danz studierte Evangelischen Theologie an der Universität Jena. Nach seiner Promotion und Habilitation übernahm er die Vertretungsprofessur für Systematische Theologie an der Universität Essen. Seit 2002 ist er Professor für Systematische Theologie A.B. an der Evangelisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Wien. Er ist Vorsitzender der Deutschen Paul-Tillich-Gesellschaft e.V. und Stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Ausschusses des Projektes »Schelling – Edition und Archiv« der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.
Dr. Jakob Deibl (geb. 1978) stammt aus Melk und gehört dem dortigen Benediktinerstift an. Er hat in Salzburg und Wien Katholische Theologie studiert und ist Assistent am Institut für Systematische Theologie der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Wien (Fachbereich: Theologische Grundlagenforschung).
Dr. theol. Marianne Grohmann ist Professorin für Altes Testament an der Evangelisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Wien.
Prof. Dr. Isabella Guanzini lehrt am Institut für Fundamentaltheologie der Universität Graz.
Dr. Gerhard Langer ist Professor am Institut für Judaistik an der Universität Wien.
Dr. Rüdiger Lohlker ist Professor für Islamwissenwissenschaften an der Universität Wien. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind modernes islamisches Denken, zeitgenössische islamische Bewegungen, Islam im Internet und islamisches Recht.
Dr Astrid Mattes is a postdoctoral researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences with a background in Political Science and Religious Studies, interested in the intersections of religion and politics.
Prof. Dr. Regina Polak ist katholische Pastoraltheologin und hat Philosophie und Theologie in Wien sowie Spirituelle Theologie im interreligiösen Prozess in Salzburg studiert. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Religions- und Werteforschung, Migration und Spiritualität. Sie ist zur Zeit als Assoziierte Professorin am Institut für Praktische Theologie an der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Wien tätig.
Prof. em. Dr. Richard Potz lehrte am Institut für Rechtsphilosophie an der Universität Wien.
Prof. Dr. Wolfram Reiss lehrt am Institut für Systematische Theologie und Religionswissenschaft der Universität Wien.
Prof. Dr. Kurt Appel lehrt Fundamentaltheologie an der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Wien. Er ist Sprecher der Forschungsplattform »Religion and Transformation in Contemporary European Society«.
