This is the first monograph detailing the literary and theological reception of the old Judaeo-Christian Sayings Gospel Q in St. Luke's Gospel.
As a documentation of the theology and history of early Judaeo-Christianity in the region of Galilee and Syria, it provides a unique access to the most ancient accounts of Jesus. The present account of the reception of Q in St. Luke's Gospel, highlights and assesses Luke's theology and its transference to its Hellenistic addressees. In contrast to present research trends, there is a clearer distancing of Luke from early Judaeo-Christianity.
Since 1995 the author has been a member of the Editorial Circle of the International Q Project (responsible inter alia for the Greek-German Study Edition of the Q text reconstructed by the IQP, 2002), and since 2000 has chaired the Q Section in the Society of Biblical Literature. At present he is covering the Chair for New Testament Exegesis and Biblical Hermeneutics in the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Munich.

Der Autor ist seit 1995 Mitglied im Herausgeberkreis des Internationalen Q-Projekts (hier u.a. verantwortlich für die griechisch-deutsche Studienausgabe des vom IQP rekonstruierten Q-Textes, 2002), seit 2000 Vorsitzender der Q Section in der Society of Biblical Literature und zur Zeit Vertreter des Lehrstuhls für neutestamentliche Exegese und biblische Hermeneutik an der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität München.
