Jack Sidnell is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Toronto, Canada. Tanya Stivers is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is the author of Prescribing Under Pressure: Parent-Physician Conversations and Antibiotics (2007), and co-editor of Person Reference in Interaction: Linguistic, Cultural and Social Perspectives (with N. Enfield, 2007), and of The Morality of Knowledge in Conversation (with L. Mondada and J. Steensig, 2010).
