Map of West Riding of Yorkshire originally published in 1611 by John Speed, digitally re-mastered from an antique original and printed onto photographic quality media. Supplied flat in a polypropylene sleeve and back board, the 20" x 16" (approx. 508 mm x 406 mm) print can be removed from the protective sleeve.
In the top right hand corner is a birds' eye view of the city of York, along with a legend showing all its streets, churches and other major buildings of the time. Beneath the plan are the arms of five of the Dukes of York, whilst on the opposite side of the map, a cherub measures the scale of miles. The towns of Leeds and Sheffield are shown as they were before the industrialisation, and also marked is Haworth, home of the famous Bronte sisters.
